While trying to put together samples for the upcoming class that I'm taking, I'm observing some interesting trends. There are certain 'classic' beers that are practically impossible to find. The preferred beer for the Premium American Lager style is Michelob. I have yet to find any and am about to go with one of the other reference beers from the style. Michelob Ultra is everywhere, but not the 'Classic Lager'. Also interesting is that finding the classic German Oktoberfests seems to be on the more difficult side. Paulaner and Spaten are relatively scarce. Guess I'll have to expand my search.

Another piece of the puzzle fell into place this morning. I received an email from the admin of the Austin BJCP tasting exam in January that a spot opened up and I was next on the waiting list. So, I now have my seat for January 11.
